AI is moving faster than the guardrails. Somebody has to say the quiet part out loud.
Knowledge is no longer scarce. Intelligence is ambient. And most organizations are still making AI decisions based on vendor demos, board pressure, and the fear of being left behind — without a clear view of where the risk actually accumulates.
Dark AI Defense™ exists to close that gap — with honest, independent analysis of where AI is actually heading, what it means for organizations navigating it, and where the exposure concentrates before anyone’s paying attention.
No sponsorship. No agenda. No happy-path-only projections. Just clear thinking from someone who’s been inside enough technology cycles to know where they break.
Who’s Behind This
I’m Don Norbeck. I’ve spent my career at the intersection where customer reality collides with what organizations think customers want — and I’ve built products and practices out of that gap.
At VCE, I helped turn a converged infrastructure reference architecture into a $2 billion product category. At Dell, I ran a field innovation team that translated what financial services customers actually needed into supply chain and manufacturing changes that unlocked anchor relationships with USAA and Wells Fargo. The pattern is consistent: find the gap between what’s being built and what’s actually needed, prove the path, and make it repeatable.
I hold seven U.S. patents in predictive configuration, fault-tolerant infrastructure, and AI/ML-driven provisioning. I’m a licensed attorney with a JD from Temple University — which informs how I think about AI governance, IP defensibility, and the legal frameworks organizations are going to need whether they’re ready or not. I was appointed to the Whitemarsh Township Planning Commission in 2025.
When I’m not writing, I work with executives and investors on AI strategy, governance, and technology diligence.
